This is pretty easy to do -
First make sure that your shopping cart has the ability to accept coupons or provide an alternate method for coupon ordering.
We'll include on our coupon that they need to email us first for the discount.
Next create the coupon - it can be a word doc, pdf file, or just a web page that folks print out.
Decide on the discount - what are you going to offer - it could be free shipping, a percentage discount, something free etc.
Decide on how they take advantage of the coupon - a code, email you etc.
Include an expiration date.
Can they apply the coupon to other discounts.
Make sure to spell it all out - Below is the text for ours. It will ultimately be a .pdf file.
Save 10% off any of our promotion packages on this page.
The URL
To take advantage of this coupon just email us first with the
following coupon code.
This coupon expires 12-31-02 and may be combined with other discounts. The 10% will be taken off the discounted price.
Pretty easy.
The traffic generators we're going to use are (don't worry we'll go into detail as we create them) -
1. An autoresponder setup using the first five chapters of our ebook.
(this will be a sample of our work).
2. A coupon for a percentage off one of our promotion products.
3. A free listing in our I Need Links directory.
4. A free copy of an ebook, which the customer can imprint with their details, links etc.
Still stumped - send me your URL in an email and I'll send you some ideas.

We'll start working on our coupon for I Need Links and the coupon tomorrow.
First my apologies for not writing yesterday... today you'll get a double dose.
The first page that we want to create will be the page that we use in our free promotions. Basically we're going to drive traffic to this page from banners and a pop up / exit page program. The programs we'll be using this have categories, so even if your site isn't all about web promotion, you'll still be able to use it. So during this planing stage you need to think about your customers - what type of information are they looking for, what discounts or items might they be able to use for free. The first thing we need to do is figure out what will go on the page - then we'll create those items - then we'll build that page around them.
So think of 3 or 4 things you can offer for free. Some ideas would include: a discount coupon, a autoresponder series of helpful tips, a sample of your product or service, a free guide that has something to do with your product or service. The goal will be to give folks a taste of what we offer, and later they will buy. See you later today.
