Good Friday to you. Today we’re going to be continuing our series on Penguin recovery. So far we’ve.

1. Figured out our money keywords.
2. Found our competition.

Today we’re going to work on setting up some tools we’ll need to figure out some things. We’ll want to figure out where exactly we stand.

1. Google Webmaster Tools – www.google.com/webmasters/tools/

Google Webmaster tools is really easy to setup. A good place to find some guidance on doing it can be found here –

2. Yahoo / Bing Tools – recently this site has came back after an absence. I really loved them previously and love them even more now.

On that page there are four steps you’ll want to do – but really for now you only need to do the first two.

How To Get Started

Open a Webmaster Tools account
Validate your website
Create and upload my sitemap(s)
Create a search optimization plan

3. Free tools are great by sometimes you need some paid tools to help you get the job done. I’ve tried about all of the paid tools out there. After much testing and comparisons – the tool I like best is http://www.seomoz.org/plans. One of the best things I like about them is the fact you can get a free month free – following our recovery plan three months
should be plenty of time to get the ball rolling. If you do the Try it Free plan, you’ll want to make sure you put in your calendar / datebook, the day you will be charged. That way if you don’t like it you’ll get a reminder and won’t be billed. Also remember it is 30 days – not every month.

To Do List –

1. Setup a Google Webmaster account.
2. Setup a Bing / Yahoo Webmaster account.
3. Sign up for a free SEOMOZ account.

Next time we’ll talk about some of the first things you’ll want to do.
