Good morning to you, yep I know it’s early but it’s hump day too. August always seems busy as we wrap up vacations and get ready to send the kiddies back to school. The good thing though is if you rely on holiday sales, it’s just around the corner. Have you thought about your plan yet? If not it’s time to start thinking about it.

As I’ve mentioned before I think you can use a laser or a shot gun. You should use the laser focusing on money terms you know are converting. These terms are usually of the long tail variety, like green [your keyword] or model xyz [brand name]. I’ve found time and again these convert best. If you’re in a good position with all of your money terms then by all means start using the shotgun. With limited time and budget the laser terms will bring you a return on your investment faster. You may not blow your server out of the water with traffic, but you will have people buying your products.

I had a client that was super focused on one shotgun term. Even though I showed evidence that the laser terms were converting better, that one term was the basis of success or failure with the campaign. Don’t be like that.

Did I mention it’s hump day…. enjoy it.
