Broken down –
1. Finding a forum in your niche.
2. Become involved in the forum. Ask and answer questions (be involved).
3. Make an awesome signature that makes your post leap off the page.

Examples of some good signatures are given.

Chris talks about using Google to find the forum.

I personally have never tried forum marketing. ┬áMy wife has though… and did very well with it when she started her site. I think a big key is to answer questions people may have about your subject. To be able to do that you’ll need to know what you’re talking about. It seems like a no brainer but I think for whatever reason people miss that important part. Let’s say you are building a site about raising chickens. You would find some chicken raising forums and you would visit them. You would answer questions – as you answer the questions you’ll of course make a document that shows your answers. This makes answering questions much easier the next time. As you continue to visit the forums and you begin to find questions that are asked over and over again… what do you do?

Let’s say you find a question almost everyday – like ‘how to get my hen to lay more eggs’. You know the secret to doing that and you share it – now you write a nice optimized blog post. It takes your usual answer and expands it by about 2 or 300 words and you create a video that shows your technique in detail. Next time when you’re answering the forum post, you include your usual answer and then you point them to your expanded blog post. You also modify your usual forum signature to include a link to your awesome content.
