A review of what’s coming on our blog.

Sooner Than You Think Sooner Than You Think (Photo credit: Redfishingboat (Mick O))

Hope you had a wonderful weekend. We stayed pretty busy although we did have a chance to watch some football games (can’t believe the season is almost over) and a High School basketball tournament that was televised in our area.

Today we’re going to start our quest to make your site better, help you grow your traffic, but the main thing is to help you make more money. For some reason most people just talk about traffic all the time. I’m really not that interested in traffic, I would much rather have 1 visitor that bought something than having 100,000 that didn’t buy anything. So your goal should be to get visitors that buy to come to your website.

So here’s an overview of what we’ll be doing in the weeks and months ahead.

  1. Figuring out where you are. In order to improve anything you’ll need to figure out where you start. We’ll talk some more about this on Weds. Also we’ll be talking some about goals.
  2. Figuring out what your competition is doing well. Everyone has competitors. Doing an assessment of your competition will allow you to figure out what they are doing right, as well as opportunities for what you can do better than them.
  3. We’ll then cover some things we want to make sure you’re doing (every day, every week, every month). There are certain things you need to make sure you’re doing and we’ll make you a nice handy to do list.
  4. We’ll talk more about ways to dissect and beat your competition.

During these articles we’ll be doing work on a couple of our own web properties – kind of like a case study.  Sometimes things we tweak will work wonderfully and other times it will flop like a big ole dead fish.  If you’re going to go on the journey with us then you’ll need to realize that ahead of time.

You’ll want to make sure you have the following:

–          Some kind of spreadsheet software. You can use free tools that are online.

–          You’ll need to have a $100 or so in your ad budget, and be willing to spend some of your profits to continue advertising.

–          You’ll need to spend some time working on changes and things for your site (or hire someone to do it for you).

Hope you have a wonderful day and we’ll talk to you again on Weds.
